Sally Mae 8 1/2 months old
Here's an picture I took last night of my good friend Carl Layne's 8 1/2 month old leopard female treeing her second coon (on the tree). She treed one alone last week and this one last night. Sally Mae is out of Merle and Dobbin Ray's Tennessee Blue female. Looks like she's going to be something special.
The other dog is Daisy, one of the dogs that came from Ken Clark. She's out of McDill's Scooter and Clark's Ann. She had to be treated for heart worms and is pen stale but seems to be improving with each hunt. She's a 47lb female with a 70lb mouth on her.
We are having a great time hunting these Leopards.

Merle her daddy has a lot to do with her doing so good Merle is one of the fines hounds I have ever hunted with and after 30 years of hunting by the grace of God . with walker and blueticks for 25 of that and still have blueticks and always will but these Leopard will always be here to they can tree coon !! Wayne has some of the best Leopard around and Merle is a Coon dog! And smart as they come he work with you as good as any dog I have ever owned and his female are hunted and tree coon and will get it done anywhere . The Lord has blessed me with great a friend and great hounds God is good always!
Good hunting to all .
Clarks Ann
They are both fine looking hounds! Is that the Merle Johnny Williams from MS owned? Does the Clarks Ann you are referring to belong to Ken? We had Clark's Ann (out of Old Charlie) here and bred her to Johnson's Camo Bull Lea. She is also the mother To Brent Stevens 2 females Reba and Bell. Ann's pups are due the first of January.
Just wondered if this is the same female?

Yes, that would be the Merle that John Williams owned. I bought him from Mitchell Garver last November. Daisy is out of Clark's Ann. I also own Dawn, she is a litter mate to Mr. Stevens Reba and Bell. I really like this line of dogs. Tell us about the Doby dog?
Tell us about the Doby dog?
Doby
I bought Doby from John Cox last January. In March I gave him to a fellow up in the mountains here and he worked him through the spring and summer. Turned several coon out for him to run and tree. He then hunted him off the 4 wheeler and he went right on treeing coons. I gave him Doby with the understanding that I got first choice on him if he decided to get rid of him. He really liked him but realized there was some money to be made and ask me more that I paid for him to start with. I offered him half that and got him back as I didn't want him going anywhere. It was a lot cheaper than having someone hunt him by the month. He's a lot like Merle,
more of a track dog, not much of a lay up dog. I hunt them together a lot and he has split treed and held his tree and had the coon with Merle doing the same. He's tough as nails and can go every night. Bawl/Squall on track, chop on tree, good nose, stay put tree dog. Can do it alone now but not completely finished but getting close. Black, weighs about 58lbs.

Thanks
The fact is we had a great season up till about January. We've treed some coons since then but it's been a lot tougher in these Tennessee mountains. Not much mast at all. Most of the coons we have treed have been in the vicinity of feeders the deer hunters had out. We have access to a few of these leases and it's a good thing. Don't think we would have seen very many coons this last month and a half otherwise. Took Merle in a cove without any deer feeders last Thursday night. He hunted hard for two and a half hours never opened one time.
