Looking for a few good clubs
I'm searching for a few clubs for an opportunity to host a national level hunt in the relative near future.
The UKC Cur program is looking for a home for the Cur Days hunt.
Club should have ample facilities, guides, and willing to provide a kitchen for participants.
We are planning to have an full elimination style squirrel hunt, so two days of squirrel hunting with an early round on day 1, a late round on day 1, then an early final round on day 2. With the proper amount of guides and support we may also plan an "open event" on day 2 for those not qualified for the finals.
We will also be holding a bench show for curs as well
We would also like to offer a full elimination coon hunt at night. Depending on participation we may need this to be a two night event as well.
Club will receive the proceeds of the hunt(s), and may also sell raffle tickets etc if desired.
Hunt master and bench show judge will be provided at no cost to the club.
Here is the opportunity for your club to host a national level event, raise a little money, and have a great time.
Please let me know if your club is interested in hosting this event (date to be decided)

what kind of numbers will this hunt draw??
Jim to be perfectly honest, I don't have a clue....
I would love for there to be 30 to 60 entries....but I'm not sure that it will draw that many....most of it depends on location, time of year, competing dates for other hunts, and hunter participation.....

club
How many dog where at the last cur days and can we hold a U K C coon hunt the same night for hounds? Our club as a rule only draws 5 to 10 curs on the other KC sq. hunt.
If I remember right the last one was held in pretty much a sq. dog void.
Re: club
The first "Cur Days" was held in southern Michigan, and was held on the same weekend as another large squirrel hunt. To say that attendance was disappointing would be an understatement.....
It was not planned far enough in advance, and it certainly was not advertised.....so we are planning on fixing those issues to give it a better chance at drawing. Remember, we are looking forward now...not back....

If you contacted me about this opportunity, and you were going to talk to your club...I need you to touch base with me. There is a lot of work to be done towards getting this done, and we need to get the wheels turning pretty quickly.
I have one club that has agreed and is anxious to have Cur days....but I have talked to others that needed to consult with club members for support and I committed to waiting to hear back.
Please at least touch base with me if your club is considering hosting this event with an update.
