I would have loved to have seen them in the finals together but in getting beat going there there was no one in the top 100 we would rather see win it all!
Lane is a great young man who doesn't live far from us. He and Emmy are a great team and have done a lot of winning. He pleasure hunts with Tyler weekly and Chey goes with them often. Dalton actually rode up here with him. We've hauled him to hunts and the boys travel together alot. I've never surprised when he and Tyler call from timbucktoo at 3 am to give the run down of a hunt they spontaneously took off to. He has spent many of nights on Tyler and Ash's futon after a late night at a hunt or in the bottoms. Lane is a good hard hunter and has put lots of years and lots of miles in behind Em and is no stranger to the winners circle. Carl Reed his partner on Emmy became a mentor to him early on.
A little back story on where it started.. at 16 yrs old or so Lane traded for a skinny cull looking pup that was 10 mo old with no special pedigree behind her and here he is today with a World Champion. He has previously won the PKC Youth World Championship and this year won the Senior Showdown Truck hunt and somewhere around $60 000 in earnings. He is currently the Oklahoma Pkc president and the Oklahoma Federation of Coonhunters VP (has served as the Pres) all this at 23 years old. The future is brighter than the doom and gloomers will let you believe. These youngsters love this sport and are serving it well.
Either last year or year before last he was scratched for blowing his squaller at the zones while winning. Sad when a rule that has needed changed for a while has eliminated so many top contenders, glad he kept it in his pouch this week!
(I feed her a donut tonight and he gave her a honey bun last night maybe that's the trick lol)

Thanks Jen for your post, I knew you guys were pulling for him to win after you guys missed out. I can think of no better endorsement than one from you. Him winning dampens my disappointment that Shack didn't win. You guys have certainly won your share lately, but I wanted you to win this one . I am sure the guys and their dogs will be back in the Winners Circle before long. Dave. P.S. May have to try the doughnut or honey bun tip. Lol
