the colonial pipeline leak in huntersville n.c. has a estimated spill of over a million gallons of gasoline was discovered this past summer by 2 teens and didn't make national news till this week ! why ?

Less driving, People looking for alternative cheaper transportation.
More hybrid and electric cars sold.
On top of price increase they are talking about increasing the federal gas tax to put the final nail in the average Joe's freedom of traveling in this country

Over the last 483 miles, I've used a little over 4 gallons of gasoline. Cant wait for technology to advance to spinning wheels to generate power to charge batteries. Idiot bush 8 years taught me to wise up. One day in the future, people will look back and ask my God what were those folks thinking.

Buttigieg pointed out on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that the gas tax has not been changed since 1993, meaning it has not been adjusted for inflation. He suggested it is a “medium-term solution” to pay for infrastructure.

What vehicle are you driving to get this? Asking because we will be needing a new vehicle soon. Daughter just got learners permit. She will get my wifes F-150. My wife will need new vehicle. Drives about 110 miles per day to/from work. Don't want small vehicle.

You better check if that is not EXAGGERATING.
Battery power on most Hybrids not over 30-50 miles while gas power is 30-50 mpg .....So ideal conditions are 100 miles
Top that off with they are 4 bangers and requirement to use PREMIUM GAS because they are high compression requiring high octane
Almost forgot recharge time.
Don't forget to plug it in every day driving that far and using battery to full capacity
KWH per mile ...Lets say 30 KWH to recharge 4 hours. (that is an average 30 KWH per 100 miles). EVERY DAY.
depending on per KWH charged by your power company that is
600-1000 KWH per month usage just for work
So recharge cost could be about 70-125.00 per electric bill cycle depending on car use and electricity cost in your area

Heard on the news this am that gas prices are rising due to the high demand from people going to get their covid shots. Looks like they could come up with better than that.
