Joy 24/20
Started feeding 24/20 after winter was over. (Was feeding 30/20 super meal. I have a female within last month that does not care for it. I am starting to notice the males are eating grass seems there stomachs are upset. The dogs are wormed regularly and seem healthy otherwise. Just curious if anyone else is seeing the same thing.

Dogs are doing better The female is eating. I did however notice that the new bag of 24/20 I opened was back to the smaller pellets and a lighter color. I assume they made a change in the recipe.

Guy I buy from had a pallet deliverd and 23 bags got fed to the hogs because it was so rank a dog wouldn't touch it. Was months from expiration date.

Two weeks ago I bought a bag of maintenance cause dealer didn’t have 24/20, smelled horrible. Dogs wouldn’t eat it and I don’t blame them. Good date. Never fails, I switch to a new feed, dogs like it and do good, then it all goes to crap!

Thanks. He contacted them when he had the issue.
The date says best by feb 2024. So is the lighter pellets the current recipe?

Possible
That the color difference is from the “meat” being used.
Beef makes a darker feed then pork or chicken. Having been a buyer for 30+ years of ingredients in the feed business, that would be my guess and could also change the taste. Meat and bone meal has a protein of 48-52% used in the feed business so example: if beef meal is $250.00 a ton and pork meal is $180.00 a ton, which do you think gets used??
Sellers have an old saying, “sell them what they want, deliver what you have.”

Our “formulas” where also fixed—
But that has nothing to do with what ingredients are used to get that fixed formula (or as your nutritionist would call the guarantee analysis)
I use to feed High Standard and would have our lab test it
Dark to light color met the protein guarantee just came from a different source.
