ok was at a club there was a 5 dogs entered,2 dogs were owned by the same owner.when dogs where drawn out the dog with the 2 dog cast was with the same 2 dogs with the same owner.i spoke up and said dont they have to be spilt up since they have the same owner.the owner then comes screaming at me and says no only if he requests it.i turned at him and looked at the hunt director and said i believe they have to be split up.as i did not have a current rule book .then the owner said he he talk to alan g. from ukc and alan told him there is no such rule.i hate to call alan..but maybe i should

Be assured Allen G said no such thing to anyone. Ever. The applicable rule is just the opposite. It says, {multiple owner entries WILL BE split, if possible.} There is no option available.

THE only thing that could potentially be an exception, or sort of depending on how you look at it; is where a new owner has not yet transferred the dog into their name. In this case, mutliple owner dogs are not intentionaly separated until officially transferred.

While where on the subject. I was at a hunt a couple years ago and the Master of hounds forgot to split up the same owners dogs and they drew out together. The owner of the two dogs demanded they they redraw the dogs. Which they did.But I didn't think it was right.

You'll find it in the running rules and on the back of the scorecard in the preface section as follows:

NITE HUNTS
Official Nite Hunt Honor Rules
Effective January 1, 2023
* Indicates a definition found at the end of the Nite Hunt
Honor Rules

In addition to the rules on the scorecard, the Official
UKC Coonhound Rulebook and the most recent Coonhound
Advisor columns in COONHOUND BLOODLINES and on
the UKC website, contain additional rules, statements of
policies and interpretations of UKC rules pertaining to the
conducting of UKC events.

All event activities, rules, policy
applications and interpretations are subject to the final
decision by UKC in its sole judgment and discretion.

All casts must be drawn publicly. Owners having
multiple entries will have dogs drawn to separate casts if
possible.

Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs
will be allowed on the grounds or while participating in a
UKC licensed event, or in the buildings the day of a UKC
licensed event.

Participants 13 years of age and under
entering a nite hunt must be accompanied by an adult
other than the cast members they draw.

_____________________________

In most cases, owners would rather have their dogs split up, but in those cases where a dog has not yet been transfered or "registered" to them, the MOH/HD cannot split them up intentionally until transfered to the new owner. "Transfered" is defined as "processed at the UKC office and in the system as such.

Or "called and got the correct ruling" on a Saturday (when the office was closed).
