Arkansas Guys
I’m heading to Arkansas next week for a few days. Is there any good state ground or public hunting to be found? I was wondering if I should bring some dogs with me.
What part of the state are you gonna be in? That may determine your answer as much as anything. There’s a ton of public land, but the stuff that’s flat/accessible enough to turn a dog loose on is pretty hunted down by this time of year.
I’ll be about 30 minutes west of hot springs.
You’re about an hour south of me so I’m not much help. But I know there’s a ton of National Forest between Mena and Hot Springs. Pretty rugged, lots of pine country, but the bottoms are usually huntable hardwood. I’d recommend getting some good maps and be prepared to climb some hills down there. You may also look for some public land around the larger lakes in that area. Good luck.
