Good news Dave. I just read that scientist did a study on rattle snakes using a fake leg. They put a boot on a stick and "stepped" on rattle snakes 175 times. It resulted in only 6 strikes. The other 169 times the snake was trying to get away. So you can start summer hunting again. You can probably step on ten rattle snakes before one bites you. Plus, some of the bites were dry bites.(No venom) Further increasing your chance of survival.
