Bear hound please read the entire post
5-6 year old Bluetick. This hound was originally a coon hound I got so I could coon hunt with my younger kids in the winter and spring before the bears were moving , between coaching wrestling and them playing baseball I never had much time so I started him on bear . 2 summers ago I ran him a lot bc I had a lot of dogs getting hurt . He wasn’t ran last summer much but I had a female in heat couple weeks ago started taking him back out . He’s not quite back into hunting shape yet but he’s making trees pulling through on tracks . Even in the best of shape he doesn’t have the speed to stick with my main pack . Doesn’t mean he can’t help catch bear but he’s just naturally slower than my walkers . I’m not going to advertise him as a rig or a start dog but the dog has a nose and can use it. I don’t know how cold nose he is really I’ve always cut him in behind my rig dogs but these past couple weeks he’s been given the chance running outta corn fields and has been the first to open a few times. He’s a good tree dog . I got some pics and videos of him . My main rig/start dog got busted up Monday morning so I’ve decided to post him for sale now and continue hunting him until my walker dog is back on his feet . Price is 1,800 and I’ll hold him with a 800 deposit and continue hunting him until October . The rest due at pick up . Hunting 2/3 times a week right now trying to keep them outta the corn fields. Have plenty of references on me . Located in Oakland MD 21550 . Dog seems gritty but smart enough to stay outta the vet office . Any other questions (301) 616 9814 . 2 week trial once you pick up in October.
