Running bred hound

Should a bred female be run during early stages of preg? Does this help or hurt the pups?

we run all our bred females during the first five weeks.I don't think it makes any difference on the pups.I've ran them right up to seven weeks but IMO your risking too much. One time we turned a late term bitch loose and found five dead pups along the trail.I also turned a bitch loose that was five weeks along that was a litter I waited along time to get bred and when we shot the bear crossing the road she came out about five minutes behind all humped up and sore and she lost the litter and three weeks later Southern Sound Matlock got stolen out of our pen so I never got to make that cross again.Guess where I am going with this is if ya can afford to have the exception to the rule happen run them like we do,but if its a special cross don't do it.
