wolves in BC

I am going to BC for a cougar hunt and was wondering how bad the wolves are on hounds? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

What part of B.C.
Your outfitter should be able to tell you if there is problems in his area. Are you trying to find out if wolves are in the area so you know whether to buy a tag or not?

Don't know the area that you are going to. But simply wolves destroy hounds. And not sure there is anywhere in B.C. Or Alberta that does not have a abundance of wolves. We got enough of them in Alberta we gladly helped the great states of the U.S.A. Repopulate some key areas that they obviously felt they needed to thin out Ummm. Everything edible.. lol.. Every houndsman that is runnin mountain lions in Canada works amongst wolves. Around wolves. Half the time knows as much about where the wolves are as they do the cat they are tryin to catch up too. It is what it is.. But really you will be running with very experienced houndsmen when it comes to wolves. Cause we have more of them then anyone in north america. Have no choice but to run very close to them consistently. Cause they are everywhere. Most of us have lost dogs to them here and there. Good luck with ur hunt. N if ur runnin close to a pack of big dogs. be ready to shoot. And reload after the first one, There's more to be had.

BR.

Will you be bringing your hounds to BC to hunt?

Lots of wolves arond Clearwater so I'm told. Find where the local packs are, and then hunt somehwere else. It's always a delimma on how to keep away from the wolves.
