coon caught on the ground

what are your thoughts on scoring coons caught on the ground vs coons pulled from a refuge place after cast arrives.

COON ON GROUND/PLACE OF REFUGE

Jeff , not sure what you are looking for, but I know that coon caught on ground you plus all strike points. In this case no tree but coon has been caught and all dogs there are plussed.

On place of refuge a little more complex because I would imagine that dogs were treed and then pulled coon out. I believe in these cases all points are plussed to include dogs declared treed.

My opinion is that dogs chased quarry and showed end of track so they should be scored accordingly. I did have an instance where individual did tree his dog and had coon on ground when we showed up and points were given accordingly.

Just my opinion though.

I know what you guys are thinking, but until all dogs are handled only strike points are plused in both cases.

Darrell you are correct, but if one or more individuals should tree their dogs, but when you get there is it only their strike points that are counted?

In either of these situations only the strike points get plussed. If any dog has been treed their tree points will be deleted. Read the Coonhound Advisor in the May issue of Coonhound Bloodlines when it gets to you. This situation is dealt with in detail.

Thanks Paul/UKC, in the only case since I started back comp hunting that is how we scored it even though there was some questions about it.
