Just picked up a plott pup in Iowa on my way home from redbone days in Missouri. Jumped to the plott section here to see what I could find but there's not much on here. Anyhow pretty excited to see how this pup turns out.

Don't have the papers yet but there is a lot of Garrison's Brindle Ranger, a dog called Millenium Magic Candyman, Sarge III, can't remember all of them. He's out of Darell Hunts Boozer dog. My buddy drew him in a hunt and said he's a real nice dog. Real good acting pup and seems smart. Barks constantly if I'm out of his sight, he really wants to be where I am all the time. The day I stopped to look at the pups this one treed a cat in the yard and was treeing like an old dog at 3 months old. Didn't really plan on getiing one it just kind of happened lol. I think he'll make a good dog. Took j
him coon hunting the other night and he crossed cattle guards, fences, and creeks with no problem. I like him so far.

Showed him a coon tonight and he'd bark at it then get distracted then come back and bark at it. I was laying on the grass petting him up and he'd lay stretched out on his belly next to me barking at the coon. Haven't seen any fear in him yet. Think he'll be o.k.

That's good to hear. Hawk had a good weekend. Got to see a couple coons and even ran one for a little way until the going got tough. Shot one out and he really got after it chewing on it and barking at it. It won't be long. He went out with my young dog the other night and stayed gone for about 15 minutes before coming back. Pretty good for a pup his age. I'll keep you updated.

This is 'PR' Tree Hammerin Hawkeye
Figured that was a good name for a pup from Iowa. I call him Hawk. Put him on a leash yesterday for the first time. He hit the end of it and pulled for about 2 seconds then looked things over and he never fought it anymore. I think he has a lot of sense. He knows his name and comes when called and when told no he stops whatever he's doing. So far I really am liking him.
