A question for breeders (What's it all about)

What characteristics are you breeding for? What do you consider the most important trait(s)?

The biggest thing for me is brains !!!!! It doesn't matter how much ability a dog has if it doesn't have the intelligence to use it. Jmo

Some more questions

How many litters do you raise each year? What considerations do you make when placing pups? What are your long term goals for your program?

Thank you for your response Zack, I agree with you. I suppose the rest of the breeders out there must be running a top secret program. I see a lot of talk on this board about taking the Leopard breed to the next level and producing super dogs but I'm unclear what attributes are necessary for either of these things. Just looking for some clarification.

Goals...

My goals are to increase the % of great dogs in a litter, keep the track power and keep the kind of brains it takes for a dog to realize the situation it is in and hunt accordingly.

I would like for them to know a good deal of English but to go any farther in the brains department we will have to open single registration.

I have bred very little in my life time but I'd say Mike Rogers does it the way i would do it. I have a male here that is the smartest dog i have ever had ,if the little female i have pans out i probably will breed them at some point.
