NHBA Youth Series
Ok I've been getting a lot of questions about this. I'll try and break it down the best I can.
The kid must handle the dog from the beginning of the hunt in order to receive points. He/she cannot receive points if they did not start with that dog.
The kid gets points per dog that they handle.
The points breakdown is as follows:
5 points for participation in the hunt
10 points for a cast win
5 bonus points for a category win
Maximum of 20 points per dog handled per hunt
The kid may hunt more than one dog but the points go with the kid and the dog. For example, if the kid handles a registered dog and wins it's cast but does not win its category then handles a grand and he/she wins the grand category with that dog then he/she will have gotten 15 points for the registered dog and 20 for the grand. He/she will not get 35 points total. The points go with each dog.
At the end of the year we will take the highest total per dog for each kid. If that kid is in 1st with their grand and is in 3rd with another dog then he/she will only receive the prize money for the 1st place dog. This way we will have four different kids winning the prize money.
I hope this clears up any questions
