Most of the pups I dealt with and saw out of Kane were born with a tremendous amount of tree. Some would say way too much. Pretty good, not outstanding mouthes, usually enough hunt but not what you'd call tons of fire. Real independent, some could "guard the tree" just a little, lol.

That said, I did see one real nice Kane female I'd have liked to have...

GetAhead Lil Red was off Kane. Bellar loved her.
When you heard her yodel she was done and was as accurate as they get.

Had a littermate sister to Little Red for awhile. Mine wasn't special, but could sure tree a coon. I think the redbone took enough tree out of them...

I hunted with Kane himself one night and saw him make four slick trees and then treed on a clump of blackberry briars for the fifth.

That said, I did see some pups out of him that were pretty nice.

Nice tree dogs with lots of natural ability, lots of smarts and good hunt, good handle, good nose, good locates and good mouths. I think brains and natural ability would be his stronger traits. Mine can be a little tree happy, but when hunted down, she is quick and accurate. I have heard multiple people say they like his stuff, but he hasn't been promoted in years, he seems to fly under the radar.

Thanks for all the info. I've been trying to get a young kane female bought and I'm not having any luck and was curious about his pups.

The pups I hunted out of him were sensible and trainable. And had decent mouths.
