My beloved husband of 50 years, David W. Hammel, could not survive the effects of cardiac arrest and passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond VA. Dave was deeply loved by me, and our large family of children, Sara & Mike McNamara, Eric & Patti Hammel, Scott & Julie Hammel, and 11 grandchildren. Dave loved God, his country, his family and his friends. We request no flowers. Donations in Dave's memory may be made to Bon Secours St Mary's Hospital, Richmond VA (www.bsvaf.org/make a gift) or to Crater Community Hospice, Petersburg, VA. The date for a memorial service and celebration of Dave's life will be announced later.
