Same thing this was a accidental cross, Plott male I was hunting for someone got loose while I was at work and got my female. I'm excited to see what these guys make too, a littermate sister is already starting.
See what the female makes for a dog I may consider breeding her back to her nephew(a Bluetick)

No lol... I got some interesting colours out of the cross. I had a red one, a red & white, Redtick, my male which has red & blue ticking(his red patches are some what brindled thou), a black with brindle trim, a brindle(which has red & blue ticking in her white on her chest & feet) and the Bluetick

I don't think I have ever seen a litter with that much variation in color. Also, I don't think I've ever seen a pic of a dog with ticking and brindle like your Harry dog. Interesting. Good luck with them!

Interesting for certain, but I'm just as interested in PEI, how's the hunting? Plenty of land to hunt? Many other hunters?

Todd
Harry is defiantly one of a kind. They defiantly were not what I was expecting for colours.

Adam
Yes there's lots of hunting land. Lots of swamps, fir thickets, spruce etc so our woods are alot rougher hunting then say Ohio/Indiana(never been to or hunted in NC to know what it's like). There is not many coonhunters prob only around half a dozen or so. Some areas have better coon population than others but defiantly lots of coons to be treed. Good area to start young dogs too because we don't have as much trash for them to come across, we have fox, coyotes, skunks and snow shoe hare. We do not have any deer, bear, bobcat, fishers or porkies right on PEI and no possums anywheres here in eastern Canada.

Only a half dozen on the whole island...with no land grabbing deer hunters!? Sounds like a good place to be a coonhunter.

Adam it can be a pretty good place to coonhunt. Defiantly with no deer hunters.

Heather
He is defiantly missed. I do really like Harry, fingers crossed he will make a dog I'm looking for.

Here is a video of the brindle female treed at 6 months old

Seems like a whole other world actually does exist.

You meantioned being unfamiliar with NC, the state as a whole is very diverse, we have big mountains to sandy beaches and everything you could imagine in between.

I live on the western end, which is the mountains. Beautiful to look at, difficult to hunt at times. This is an actual pic from a rock outcropping on my usual ground.
