pups

I dont do anything with pups that young but what you r doing. teach the to load, lead, a few basic commands like come. And i would work on tone breakin them at 6 or 7 months old if u have a shock collar. I jus let them run around as much as possible till 8 months or so then show them a caged coon n start hunting them.

I have never put a dog in the hunts under 2 years old but all dogs r different. But u dont want to put em in the hunts to early u dont know wat kind of dogs other people have. Most r fine but u enter a young dog in a hunt wit an aggressive dog he could run him off the tree and ruin them. And i like to hunt them by themselves once they start treein coon until they r consistently doin well. It will help them lear to work on their own better

The best advice i can give u is hunt a lot. As much as u can because the pups need hunted a lot if u want them to reach full potential and stay in good working shape. i use to hunt at least 4 or 5 nights a week and had some really nice hounds that made it fun and worth all the work. As ive got busier i havent been going but 1 or 2 times a week if im lucky and pups dont catch on as quick and the older dogs dont hunt as well.
