Need training advice!

I just got a 18 month old blue tick female gave to me from my friend, she is a grade dog but out of a couple of real coon hunting dogs, she is a great looking dog and she has no problem going out with the other dogs and THREE/FOURTHS of the way treeing with a really big male type mouth. I am a younger hunter and have never had a young dog just old dogs that done do their own thing. I really want to get her to do her own thing and I also hunt her with her dad who provides meat but is also a little mean on the tree was needing opinions on what to do about that as well. I really am just wondering if she is to old to train and make a real dog, and if not how to make her run and tree her OWN coon and get her accurate I really appreciate any feedback THANKS!

the last thing you wont to do is hunt her with the mean dog. hunt her alone would be a lot better off.

Training

Put you out a couple of feeders and get her on some hot tracks. As she progresses move her away from the feeders to get her hunting a little deeper. Also if you can catch some coons, turn one out and wait about 10 to 15 minutes and cut her on the track. If she has it in her, she will figure it out. Keep'em Lookin' Up!!
