- One 6 year old, two 7 year olds, two 9 year olds, five 10 year olds, six 11 year olds, seven 12 year olds, two 13 year olds, six 14 year olds, six 15 year olds, nine 16 year olds, and seven 17 year olds.

- 14 states represented.
- 1 from Alabama, 2 from Arkansas, 2 from Georgia, 3 from Indiana, 20 from Kentucky, 1 from Missouri, 4 from North Carolina, 1 from New Jersey, 5 from Ohio, 3 from Pennsylvania, 2 from South Carolina, 1 from Tennessee, 1 from Virginia, and 7 from West Virginia.

- 39 boys and 14 girls entered.

Congrats to all last night's winners and good luck tonight!
Youth Nationals is always a good time!

Side note Trevor, we had a nice rain come through yesterday morning and the high only made it into the 80's. It was in the low 60's on our way home early this morning. Maybe someday if this hunt comes back our way we this weather will too. I hope it's headed your way for the kiddos tonight!

What a fun weekend in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. I'm late posting but it's just been so dang busy getting everything tied up. It is a blast to see all the kids having fun in a sport that me, and a lot of the folks on my friends list love and are passionate about.
These great pictures are just a small glance into a weekend full of big smiles. Whether they were winning the hunt or show, or playing football, throwing cornhole, or just goofing around with new friends, there were a lot of happy youth walking around.
Great job by the North Central Kentucky Coon Hunters Club. Guides and Judges were all there and ready to roll making drawing casts easy and efficient. Everyone from the club was very helpful even though they don't get near enough recognition. Guys like Mark Brockman, Duncan and Neal Brothers, Larry and Brian Streible, Butch Glass, Joe Lueke and many, many more.
I appreciate Doug Johnson and the Kentucky Houndsmen Association for being there and their many contributions for the youth. I also appreciate the Mayor of Elizabethtown and the Kentucky DNR officers for being on hand to show their support of the event and of us ol' hound hunters.
I want to thank Jamie Estep for coming from West Virginia to be our Master of Hounds each night and to thank Kayla Cooper for coming from Alabama to be our Bench Show Judge and for putting on one of the more enjoyable seminars I've had a chance to witness. I appreciate Ben Sheets of Tree Talkin Media coming down to do media coverage for us, great job as always. And obviously Nicole Sedlecky for helping make this event run so smoothly from the administration side.
Lastly, I want to thank the parents, guardians, and kids who took the time out to come to the event and compete. 53 kids went to the woods on Friday, 53 on Saturday, and 46 individual kids showed a dog on Saturday. Great, great weekend. I know the awards and door prizes are great and I'm glad for it, but I hope each kid that was there took home more than just material things. I hope they made friendships that will last forever, learned something about our sport that will stick with them, and grew their love for hunting that will burn in them always.
