I'm a former plott hunter, had them for 20 years. I my opinion the breed doesn't reproduce well as a whole. I've seen and owned some exceptional plotts but they rarely reproduce pups if equal talent. I'm sure there are exceptions to this but haven't seen it. Gr Nt Ch Garrisons Brindle Ranger is the only plott I've seen that you knew what was going to be produced, they would have a good mouth, they would tree, they'd probably need broke off of trash and they'd typically forget what you taught them yesterday, BUT they'd tree coons and could win. My own Gr Nt ch plott didn't reproduce like this. The most recent problem I see in today's plotts is a weak mouth. Finding one that's talented and can be heard for a mile seems rare. Good luck with your plotts I'll be rooting for you while I hunt something different..
