Akita's were bred for hunting bear, wild boar and deer in Japan as late as 1957. They would flush out the bear and keep it at bay until the hunter could come and kill it.

Akita

I know this, but some Akitas were treeing small game, too. My question was if your Akita showed any interest to treeing. Did they tree or bay bears here, in USA?

My West Siberian Laikas do both baying/treeing bear and treeing squirrels and raccoons.
