Dog not Barking Treed

I have recently gotten a grade Mtn. Cur. I knew nothing about her, and i took her hunting. Showed me two squirrels. She will not bark treed. I heard her bark three times on one tree, and i was not in sight. When i am in sight she will not bark. Also did this on a raccoon. She was up on the wood so i just went into the tree. Had the meat. She knew she was right, But no barks. This is a two year old spayed female. She has obviously been hunted, and may just need some work. She hunts out, jumps in the box, and showed me some game! I get her very excited but no barks. Doesn't shut up at home though!! Suggestions? I received her from a young amishmen who said he had her a little bit and never hunted her. That's all he could tell me. I have hounds, Should i hunt her with them? Or keep her by herself? Good looking dog. Worth more than the $25 i got her for! Time might just be the answer here. thanks
