Fellas, thanks for your replies.
I am new to hounds and hunting with hounds. Living where I do, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, we have the highest population of lion per sq km of anywhere in Canada, and that's what I plan on running.......lion.
I had aquired this pup from a breeder who runs big game in Washington State, and and he told me that his pups ought to have it in 'em to run lion, bear and bobcat. Supposedly, the dam is a cold nosed dog, with sire J. Porter being faster drifter type warmer nosed dog.
Since I've had this pup, I've learned a ton about hunting with hounds and it has sparked an interest in learning some of the better known big game hounds and breeders lines and history. Facinating indeed.
I figured I may as well start learning about what I've got, and thus the questions.

Well it sounds like this pup is going to have in her, all I have to do is MY part...... She's seen a couple of caged coon already [ 6.5 months old ] and has shown good aggression and the ability to track a dragged caged coon up a tree. Hopefully she'll strike a lion track this winter and with the help my airedale for grit, we'll be on our first lion.
