Light Foot Guys

Bill Clark started the Light Foot bloodline in the 1940s. Bill has made a set of recording's covering the bloodline from start up until now. These recording's cover over 60+ year's of one man's Quest to breed the Best hounds possible. These are to the best of my knowledge the only recording's ever made by a Breeder covering the entire history of a bloodline. Bill tells about his friendship and the night's spent hunting with James Merchant, Lavern Miller and several of the great breeder's other breeds. Bill shares the knowledge he has gained from hunting with over 20 World Ch's. Including a well known World Ch Walker that Bill gave away. These recordings are the reflections from a life time of hunting and breeding hounds. Bill said, Jess we have known each other for close to 30 year's I have one last thing to give you ! A recording of the history of our hounds. Bill covers many nights of hunting with some of the greatest hounds of the last 50 years from all breeds. These tapes are just Packed with History, Wisdom. I feel that the Insight and Wisdom in these recording's make them a value to anyone wanting to breed good hounds. I will warn you up front Bill is a tell it like it is kind of guy, You will not like all of what you hear. But you will respect the drive and focus that it took for anyone to stick with a bloodline, Always trying to better it for a Lifetime. Bill and I have disscussed and cussed hounds and each other for close to 30 years now, I will say now that we have not always agreed. To Quote BIll <I have never learned anything from a Yes man.> I think we both enjoyed that.<lol> We have always shared a love of Hounds and Hunting and the Worst Addiction possibile Light Foot hounds!!!
If there is enough interest I may make these recordings available to the public.
Jess

When I talked to Bill a while back, I really enjoyed hearing the stories he had to tell about how he started the Lightfoot bloodline, and the dogs he used to develope the foundation of the Lightfoot dogs we are hunting today. From the World Hunt stories, to the ones about lion hunting with his old Ike dog, I found it very interesting to hear about dogs 10+ generations behind the dogs I'm currently hunting. Public interest or not, send me the 1st set of copies that get made. I love hearing the historical stories from 50 years ago about what made these hounds what they are.

I will put you on the list.

I will be making a set for everyone who has called. But I am going to ask everyone else to wait a few weeks. These take a while to copy and I have a bunch to make.

Melanie

You have No Idea.<lol>
Between P.M.s and post's and call's I am 64 deep right now. I am on the way to radio shack to find a better way to do this. I had thought about making this into a book, Much eaiser to find a print shop than to do poor boy recording's. However when you hear old Bill's voice telling the stories you can Feel what was going on. Much more than reading it.
I wanted to make these recording's so that the Knowledge/Wisdom gained from a lifetime of Hunting and Breeding dog's would not be lost. As I listen to these again and again I have found that the Story of A Bloodline of Hounds might be of more value than the information contained in the story. If you gain nothing more than a better idea of the dedication Bill had to his hound's it is well worth listening to. If like myself this story cause's you to Think about your own dedication . You will never forget these recordings.
So Jess has A Whole Bunch of work to do.
Jess
