Maybe he means placing or winning in the final four of any world hunt or winning the big hunts like winter classic, grand american, autumn oaks, any of the big money hunts or any of the breed days that are not redbone breed days...
It is a pretty valid question and one that all redbone people are aware of. But stay tuned....there are people working very hard in this breed to change that and I think in the coming years you will see some redbones winning in some of the biggest hunts on a regular basis. Part of the problem is our breed has a smaller number of dogs capable of winning at that level...just like leopards and plotts....and another part of the problem is that we have very few handlers that show up to these big hunts. I applaud those who do and encourage those who think they have the type of dog that can win at that level to show up with that redbone power and show what they can do. You can't win if you don't enter. I read all about these redbones on here who have never been out dogged and are better than most dogs they hunt against....but I only see a few of those dogs and their handlers walking the walk.....so get out there and prove what you have been saying is true. Redbone hunts are for redbone people....if you want to impress the competition world....take wins away from the other breeds and show them that they don't have a monopoly on winning the big hunts

Not all that many in some...but there are plenty every year in the world hunts, winter classic , grand american and autumn oaks. If it were a numbers game only.....we would have won a few of these. But it is not just a numbers game as some believe. Most of the time....the best dog will win it's casts and the hunt....especially if its an elimination hunt. We need everyone who thinks they have a really good redbone to show up if they can and that will increase the odds of one winning....but it is still going to have to beat each dog it hunts against.....and that is the area we need to be working on as breeders and how we hunt and train through the week to get ready for big hunts on the weekends. Good luck to everyone hunting redbones

midnite, the anwser is in your question ( reddog). i have ask this same question on here before and got scolded for it. the other breeds have advanced and the red dogs have not been keeping up. 25 years ago i thought the red dogs did fairly well in winning there share, but thats not true today. i still like them and wouldnt trade nothing for them. jmo tim
