Hunting In The Snow!!!
Now I know that when you read this, ya'll from the great white north are probably going to be smiling...maybe even laughing...but oh well. Down south we don't get snow every year, and even if we do it's not usually as much as we got this time (we got about 3.5"-4.5"). Even though most of it had melted by last night, what was left refroze when the sun went down. This was the first time that me and the dogs have hunted in the snow, and to be honest I was curious to see how they would do in it, because I've heard adding snow in the mix can trip them up some. We made 3 drops, 2 trees and the last one I ended up calling Dawn off because it was late (I had to get up to go to work today) and she was working a cold/bad track that I'm sure would have ended up at a den tree.
Here are a couple pictures of Dawn and Tink on the one of the trees, these are the only pictures I got and then my camera died. There was coon hair around the hole but you couldn't see into it, so I can't say for sure he was there, but I feel like he was.
