bloodclot in throat

My dog dizz caughed up some blood.I ran him to the vet and they ran a scope down his throat.told me he had scraped the inside of his throat with something and it had formed a bloodclot.she cleaned it up and gave me 7 days worth of antiobiotics and anti inflamatories and said he would be allright in 4 or 5 days.
Its been a couple weeks and I still hear him hack every now and then.he seems fine eats drinks and ready to go hunting every time he hears the truck start.
Has any one ever dealt with this?
Any suggestions?
