What is your females Pedigree. All my dogs go back to Pin Oak Toad however i never hunted with him. All the ones i seen out of him are get in the dark run a track to catch and accurate Tree dogs with good mouths. I have a daughter to old Toad that just turned 12 years old and she will still make dogs look stupid most nights.

I also had a female directly out of Red OAk Jack she died a couple months ago but is still listed as the number 6 current reproducing English Female. Her name wa CH 'PR' Timberjack Swan Creek Jill. Here is Pin Oak Toads Pedigree hope this helps. Like i said i never hunted with Toad but i am a big fan of dogs that go back to him. They all seem to have that extra gear when needed and are accurate.
Here is the Ped of my NITECH 'PR' Timberjack Log Chain, He was directly out of Toad and Swamp Lilly, He had 3 wins toward Grand when he got killed on the road

Toad was raised roughly ten miles from me. Mike Roberts had him. Mike died several years ago now. Mike done a nice job promoting Toad and got him bred to some good females. Like all of us he also bred to some that just didnt click. I never hunted with Toad but my daddy did on many occassions. Like all good dogs he had nights he made it look spectacular then other nights not so much. I would say Ed probably has as much of that blood as anyone anymore. You will be hard pressed to find many with Toad within a 3 generation pedigree as Toad has been gone a long time now.
