Old Tapp Blood

I would love to hear some stories or see some pictures of hounds with Tapp blood in them. My uncle used to hunt dogs out of Bob's Columbo, who went back to Mr. Nation's dogs. He was the one who got me into coonhunting, so I got a pup a couple years ago from Don Chilton in Indiana with a lot of Tapp blood in him. I really enjoy meat hunting with that dog. I would love to hear more about those old tapp dogs, or even about Bob's Columbo. I really enjoy learning more about the history of coonhunting and English dogs so any and all feedback is great.

This is my old tapp dog. Just a mongrel

The old dog showed me a lot of coons, but he was a long ways from being a tapp, or a Judy, dancer or even ice man! He is 10 almost eleven, probably gonna wish I'd got a pup off of him but we will see. He is closest to being like old heat pump, but I don't think I will ever see dogs like back then again. Especially with Emmett hunting redbones and Paul with a walker... I do hear Paul has a English female he's high on now though. My dog is just an old crap eater I didn't have the heart to Cull though, but I'm another fan of those old tapp dogs of the day for sure!
First time I ever went hunting was with Emmett Dalton, Paul Gibson, and Bobby Walters. They had ice man, a dog named L.B., Paul had dancer and Bobby had dot, lb's sister. It changed my life, I only wish I knew a third of what those men have forgot. I will always look up to them as the greatest houndsmen to ever breathe air..... Just my 2 cents

Those are some good looking dogs! Heres the dog I'm hunting out of Mr. Chilton's old tapp stock and Main Street Dino.

That sounds like one of the best first hunting experiences anyone could ask for, those are some legendary dogs!

This is Irvin Sutton with GRNITECH Dark Shadow Bobbie and Emmett Dalton/Bill Rosenbaum with GRNITECH Little Swanging Tapp at the finals of the 1991 UKC World Hunt. Bobbie and Tapp were the first littermates to ever place in the top ten. These two hounds are legends.

I also live just a few miles from ray jewell i had the privilage to be able to hunt with both tapp dogs, at that time ray still owned both dogs they were something to here on the tree thats for sure. I also had a grandson of jewells tapp back in the early 1980s i still am hunting some of that old bloodline today, this bloodline is a line that will carry on for several generations.
