In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles “Randy” Oney; sister, Ella Sutton Hafer and brothers, Willard, Fred, John, Joe, Henry, Charles, and Virgil.

Friends and family may call Friday, September 22, 2017 from 4-8 pm at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street, Greenwich. Berton Oney

English man all these years . I have a January 1968 American Cooner with a picture of him and his 1967 World Champion Vanzants Sam dog . A six foot tall trophy in the back ground . Sam looked like a leggy 65 - 70 pound dog .. black and white dog . Ad says in the 4 nites of the hunt .... he accumulated 2237 1/2 + points . .. 312 1/2 points more than the rest of the good dogs of the hunt . Sams stud fee was 100 dollars and his pups were 75 dollars . Mr . Oney was a lifetime hunter and a gentleman I am sure . We drove to Ohio back around 1989 to coon hunt and almost went to see him .... but we were tired and a long way from home and deceided to see him next time .. but never went back . My sincere condolences to his family .

I remember Bert coming to my home at the time in Paw Paw Michigan.. We sat and talked dogs and drank coffee for along while before he purchased the Ballie hound...I had many long talks with Bert after that...Larry
