Alpha With T15 Collar Trouble

What is happening when at 300 to 500 yards you lose collar reception on flat river bottom land...when I go to the collar information page the GPS indicator shows NO bars or just a single bar...a few minutes late it pick the collar up and shows full bars on the Info. page...May repeat the scenario in a few minutes … ( only started doing this after it was up-dated by Garmin at the Winter Classic )… Thanks for any advise...
