X Bred
A fellow e-mailed me that, x-bred hounds were no account, and that i shouldn't be supporting them. I e-mailed him back, that some of the very best coon hounds i'd ever seen go were, head and shoulders above, all of the registered hounds, that'd i'd seen go. I had read, Lester Nance's Treeing Walker History book, he said that White River King"s mother was an old grade black&tan female, his sire was a walker fox hound, that preferred to tree coon over running a fox. An old friend of mine, Lucian Basford, had a hound named, Lonesome, his mother was a registered black&tan, his sire was an old spotted dog, black headed, mostly white, with little black specks, he hunted wide back when we had to walk the dogs. They hunted him in the ACHA World Hunt, at Oblong, Ill. he won his casts all three nights, but he didn't have enough points to get in to the top 20. A few years later, they changed it to most casts wins. Quite a few of the ACHA World Hunt Winners, were X-Bred dogs, or they came from such, i have yet to see, these pretty papers, we've got on these dogs, tree the first coon. A friend of mine has a litter, from a registered red female, her sire is the Boone dog, the walker sire of the litter, is a littermate brother, to the Rage dog, that placed 1st friday night, and 2nd saterday night at this years walker days, they could be in the world hunt, in a few years, it would be hard to get better, breeding.
