Wide Hunter Genetics vs Poor Coon Population

I was wondering what y’all thought about that if you have a dog that is high strung, with the genetics to be a through the world type dog will they still wanna cover a lot of ground in a area with thick coons. Obviously I can understand if the coons are thin a big hunting dog will go till they strike a track, I’m currently hunting/ training a young dog that is pretty live wired I just wonder if or when she starts clicking how she’ll operate I have a lot of good hunting here and feel like I near about drop the dogs right in coons every time should be no excuse this time of year to have to go more than 300+- to strike one. I guess another way that question can be asked is can “moving around good” and hunting out a area rather than leaving the country be taught to a young dog by consistently dropping them in likely places

They are usually hot nosed ambush type dogs

They dont even try to take a track, just find a hot track and tree it without a single track bark.

If this is the type of dog that constantly wins the hunts then this is the type of dog that gets bred more often than not…the genes that created this dog will be passed on whether dominant or recessive…the probability of getting more of the same is higher…

The best advice in my opinion is to find a bloodline that hunts the same style as what you are looking for…
