Bang for the buck---

I feel that it's over priced for what you get. I feed Diamond Performance which is a 30/20. It cost less here and when you have a nine year old coyote hound that can run 9.5 hours and still doesn't want to quit, I'm happy. After a day of rest the old boy wanted to go again. Very little clean up and they do great on it.

There are other good feed out there, this is what works best for me.

Just remember that when they pay reps, sponsor hunts and youtube channels you are paying the bill.

When I purchased feed ingredients and sales people would want to take me golfing, out to dinner or fishing trips I would tell them to just cut their price so ALL my coworkers could enjoy a pay raise.

I fed hi standard and joy for years. They are owned by same folks and was even told by factory rep that they are the same feed on certain formulas. It was/ isn’t a bad food . With that said they have increased the price in my area by 15.00 a bag in last 3 years! It costs a lot to donate all the food they do, run pod casts , you tube channel , cane stream and pay 5k to elite handlers ……..
I feel that I can get better feed for that price range now. January of 2021 it was 30.00 for 50# that same feed is now 45.00 for 50#.

That’s still…

Cheaper than what I pay. I feed that Purina One lamb/rice, 40# bag with tax is 65.00$. I wish we had Joy close to us I’d pay that price all day. Problem I have is last time I went to change her she wouldn’t eat it the other food.

Over priced! I believe there is several different brands that has alot better feed at a cheaper price. My dogs would not eat it, I know other people who feed it and like it, but to me it's way over priced based on its ingredients. Dog food is a touchy subject, everyone has an opinion. Ive tried nearly every feed out there, but what works for me and my hounds may not work for you.

The High Energy blend lists “animal fat” in its ingredients.. I have not tried it and that’s why. They offer other blends that specify where the fat comes from - I.e. chicken fat.. I’ve been told the “animal fat” in the High Energy is chicken, but I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be listed as such if that’s the case. With minimal research, “animal fat” leaves the door open for all sorts of (stuff) to be in the product.

JOY does a lot for the hound hunting community and I know a pile of folks that are satisfied with the feed!

The thing about asking about dog food on the Internet is that for every honest opinion given by a person with experience you get 50 opinions of people that are just making stuff up, or are repeating opinions of others that were usually just making things up when they said it, or say things based on no facts or evidence.

Go get a bag. Use it on your hardest keeper, if at the end of the bag you don't like it, pm me. I'll give you your money back.

Joy feed

I used to feed Joy and was well satisfied, lack of supplier in my area was the ONLY reason I stopped using Joy. I feed Purinia as it is readily available. Truthfully all dog feed brands have increased their prices, not just Joy. Dave

Wake up and smell the coffee nothing compares to purina pro plan sport 30-20. Nothing evens comes close . Most hunters should not own a dog they are to cheap to feed them right or take them to the vet

I agree to using Purinia Pro plan, heck I even feed Purinia dog chow to the raccoons on my farm and they are fat and sassy. My wife enjoys watching them on our game recorders that send pictures to her phone. Unfortunately, there are hunters who don't feed their dogs a good feed or use vet care, you can't fix stupidity. I have known some owners like that and wished that they could be treated as they treat their dogs. Dave

Purina

To all that feed purina feed they support the anti hunting groups that are trying to take our traditions away from us. Just putting that out there. I feed the Pride my bear hounds stay in good shape even when running them hard for days on in.

I fed 2 bags it was decent feed dogs had looser stool than I like to clean up the 1 dog stayed same weight wasn't being hunted much at the time other I believe lost a Lil but that's the experience I had not my cup of tea for being pushed.
I feed diamond extreme athlete 32/25 when I'm hunting 1 right and the 30/20 when I hunt them here and there.
Only problem with the 32/25 is if you don't hunt there guts out will get fat fast but we also run them on the bike several miles a day or every other day depending on weather and time. The 2 I have ATM don't heat up very easy but I'd say some definitely would in hotter weather
