Ask this question before and most said that if you managed the weight it was fine. but a few said it messed up the hormones and to not do it. So I would like to hear the experience of anyone who did it and it messed up the dog. Actual Experience.

I’ve had a few spayed females over the years. Never have seen it affect their hunting at all.

If you have a female that has raised pups and you know you’re not going to raise any more from her you’re better off getting her spayed. Females that have had pups are more susceptible to uterine infections. If you have one with what is called a closed pyometra (uterine infection)there is a high possibility of death if it is undetected. There is often no vaginal discharge from this type of infection until it’s to late and the dog gets septic. They can be saved but the odds are not good.

I’ve had the latter happen and was unable to save the dog.

I had a English female named Sue owned her for 9 years raised her and trained her. She was fixed and she was a straight up coon dog could them at 50 yards or 2 miles. Iv never owned another dog that had a heart as big as hers she gave it 110 percent ever time u cut her. Matter of fact I'll probably never own another dog as good as her. She was the first ever English dog to win the ukc winter classic In 2020 and that's only a drop in the bucket that's he's won.
