Maybe im wrong, for thinking ,and feeling the way i feel, and forgive me if i come across sounding critical....but, with all due respect ,,, I have hunted in about every state in the southeastern United States, and central,,,,and when you start getting north of ga.. It gets easier,,,it just does,,,,less off game, easier terrain, and 75 percent of the dogs that are train in the north look stupid in the south, and alot want even hunt, unless there digging, and running off game, it like haveing a field trial with a course,,,,,, i got a buddy down here that has a jack russel that can tree coons up there,, like popping pop corn, so please lets keep it real ... if a dog can come dog here and strike a coon and trail through this terrain, under these condisions,, remember now , ... worst environment imaginable,,,,,,and come up with the ringtail, then i say crown the dog....... Because ,,, why ????? Thats a coon dog...but anyway good luck with the hunt, and no offense intended...jmo
No disrespect...but if its so easy a jack russel terrier can do it up here....why would your dog not be able to win up here. Why is there a need to handicap almost every other dog that isn't from the southeast just so your dog has an advantage? Seems like a tough, experienced, coon tree'er like yours would have an advantage over every other dog no matter where you take him since he can tree coons in the toughest hunting on the planet....right? Why is it that the southern guys always think the northern dogs wont hunt in their country....but are afraid to bring their southern dogs up to our golf coarse woods and our fat waddle up the first tree they come to easy to tree coons. Where is the disadvantage for those southern ground pounders in all these easy northern coon?
