2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
This scripture became real life for myself just in the recent past as family members gathered at the funeral home to pay our respects to my Dad's only sister and one of my many fine Aunts, Aunt Peggy. As my Dad's only living Brother, Bill, approached the setting area to ready for his Sisters funeral as well, I could see the loss of his only Sister was taking a toll on him and rightfully so. However, as Uncle Bill set in the chair to ready himself for the presentation of the 23rd Psalms to fulfill his Sisters last wishes, he was overcome by the immense sorrow and emotion of the moment as he laid his chin upon his chest and began to sorrowfully weep. The Spirit of God immediately rose me up from my chair, without me thinking nor contemplating the situation, from two seats away and moved to the seat next to him as I placed my hand of encouragement and brotherly love upon his shoulder... as I then moved on to grasp his hand and give it a loving squeeze or two of encouragement as the service began.
He immediately stopped shaking and crying as if God had spoke to him and encouraged him thru my necessary gesture of Christian love. I then spent the next 5 minutes praying for nothing other than for God to grant Uncle Bill the strength, peace, and courage to recite the 23rd Psalm as per his Sister's wishes... Uncle Bill then presented every single word of it without becoming emotional and with only a single crack of his respectful and loving voice. I then continued praying and I then cried as I personally witnessed the power of prayer and the omnipotent love our God has for his loving children. God held Uncle Bill up and strengthened him in honor of his love for his only loving Sister... The Lord as always, heard my prayers and it happen to be in line with his perfect will. Thank you Jesus and continued prayers with the family and all who have been affected by Aunt Peggy's passing.. God Bless.
Brother in CHRIST,
