I hunted a new male that I picked up last week. He treed in a big pine grove. couldn't find the coon. He is a real nice tree dog, very clean. no jump or chew, and a hard chop with no breaks. I think he will be fun to hunt!

hunted oz male again last night. Stuck at about 300 yards in . Trailed bad old track about 800 yards and treed on a den. got back to the truck about 11 headed home 4 am comes early.

Hunted Oz again last night. Frist dump he got stuck about 250 yards in. It was a hot track, and he was treed, with the meat at about 500yards from where I cut him lose. Next drop was a payback for the easy one. Oz struck in about 500yards from where I cut him. I lost him on the Garmin at about 850 yards. I could still here him for a short while, but then he was out of hearing. I never had my Garmin do this before. The arrow on the Garmin kept spinning, almost like some one had shut the collar off. I went to the map and walked where it showed him last. When I got there I still could not pick him up. I started calling him and all of a sudden he showed up on the Garmin at 452 yards, and was coming to me. with in a few minutes I had him back on my lead, and we headed back to the truck that was about a mile away.

Had a coupe buddies come over and hunt last night. I hunted Oz and they hunted a male. Frist drop dogs treed together and had the meat. Second drop they worked a bad old track and ended up treed about a mile from truck. When we got to them they where split about 30 yards a part and they both had the meat. They did a nice job and really sounded good on the wood. Got home at 1 am. Long day at work and lots of coffee today.

Sasha has been bred to Chief. Bess was bred to chief a couple of weeks ago. Bess is out of Spike and Barbra Jean. While Chief has been taking care of the females, I have continued to hunt Oz. The more I hunt him the more I like him. Like all hounds there are things I like and things I don't like. He is only 2 years old, and something's can be made to suit me. What suits me, might not suit someone else. One thing I can say for sure is that he has a lot of qualities that anyone would like. And with the breeding behind him, I am sure he will pass it on to his offspring.
