Bubba, that one in the video that I picked up is a male and he is my pick as of now. My plan was to keep these pups up until they were about 3 months old before I sold any of them so that I could watch them develop some and see what their actions were going to be like. Right now they are 4 1/2 weeks old and getting in and out of the box and exploring beyond normal boundaries for that age. They are Bold acting pups which I like and I also like their looks and heads awfully well at this point. I may let some of them go before they are 3 months old if they show me what I want to see before then.
Dave, I don't know about cornering the market on the Mad Dog blood but I have been planning on adding the Mad Dog blood in to my hounds for the last probably 3 years. Tim described Ranger to me and also some of the things that he breeds for before I ever got to hunt with anything out of Turk. I have hunted with Smoke and Ranger now and really like what I see. Before I bred to Ranger or had the opportunity to hunt with him, I had planned on breeding some of the Ohio Valley, Uchtman, Smokey River, and Mad Dog dogs together because I like some common traits and also feel like their is enough difference to bring some of each lines best traits to the front in some of the offspring to get superior hounds. Studying Ranger's pedigree, he all ready had what I had planned to do so breeding to him puts me ahead of the game. I had mixed in some of the bloodlines all ready and I feel that adding the Mad Dog blood and the traits Tim and Paul have bred for will be a part of the puzzle. Guess I will know more in a couple years if I am right or not. I feel strongly that I am on the right track to breed and get exactly what I am looking for. I also feel that Ranger will be an asset to the people that will use him as a stud when I get him up here and will give others the opportunity to add some of this blood into their dogs while also maintaining some of the common pedigree links that they may all ready have in their favorite line of dogs.
