He is generally an up on the wood tree dog and stays put. Average barks per minute. He will get by himself most of the time, and will get a coon treed somewhere. If he is with another dog, they went to him or it was struck pretty fast when cut loose. He never looks for something to take him hunting. When you cut him in a cast, the three other dogs can take off foot racing and barking, and you can turn IV the other direction and he will take off by himself. He is not bashful about making you walk a long ways. You can't dry hole him. He will go till he finds one, guaranteed. Hardest hunting dog I have ever followed. Even at 9 yrs old and with lymes disease, he will still hunt harder and faster than most any dog out there.
IV got lymes disease last year, and has never fully recovered from it. Vet thinks with his age, he will probably never be able to fully recover. He is at Troy Sheffields house, hopefully going to be bred to some good females before he gets too old. He has what so many hounds are lacking these days. I hope he can pass it on. All of his pups are still young, but a few have shown some promise.
