Yeah ol dollar is 6 and will get gone. I don't have a tracking system but don't really need one as long as he will open that horn of a mouth.

in the last 2&1/2 weeks of hunting ol Mack has treed 3 layups, each one I watched as we was walking in or out, he would start tossing his head, then go to walking on his back feet then circle out 20 ft or so walk back & fall treed, I tell ya its an awesome sight

Echo IV has a really big mouth. If you can't hear him anymore, you are in trouble!! Clear bawl on track, bawl/chop on tree. The cooler the weather, the more chop on tree.

How does he tree? Dollar usually sits back and trees. Just depends on the company he is with. Is 4 a pretty stay put tree dog?

He is generally an up on the wood tree dog and stays put. Average barks per minute. He will get by himself most of the time, and will get a coon treed somewhere. If he is with another dog, they went to him or it was struck pretty fast when cut loose. He never looks for something to take him hunting. When you cut him in a cast, the three other dogs can take off foot racing and barking, and you can turn IV the other direction and he will take off by himself. He is not bashful about making you walk a long ways. You can't dry hole him. He will go till he finds one, guaranteed. Hardest hunting dog I have ever followed. Even at 9 yrs old and with lymes disease, he will still hunt harder and faster than most any dog out there.

IV got lymes disease last year, and has never fully recovered from it. Vet thinks with his age, he will probably never be able to fully recover. He is at Troy Sheffields house, hopefully going to be bred to some good females before he gets too old. He has what so many hounds are lacking these days. I hope he can pass it on. All of his pups are still young, but a few have shown some promise.

Nice, I have heard nothing but good things about him. Would like to hunt with him before he gets too old.

Back to the top for Troy Sheffield. If it hadn't been for him there would not be any Echo hounds out there.

GRNNITECH 'PR' DOUBLE SPRINGS ECHO II AGAIN is the 4th generation of Troy's Echo line. This hound is producing coon dogs!

Have a young dog out of Double Springs Woodrow X a full sister to Zeb(Double Springs Blue Sis). This nasty winter hasn't let me get him out as much as I wanted, but he did get a few treed by himself. Weathers breaking and running season has started up here, hope to put him under a lot of coon. Will have to learn how to post a picture on here, lol.

Going tonight, snows melted off and should only get down into the upper 20's. Going to run him with my cur tonight, he'll have company for a bit but that cur is fast, quiet, and don't pack up!!

Heading for Ardmore in the morning, going to try and smack on some feral hogs. Wish I had time to hit Texoma for some blues, but that will have to be another trip.

Tom, I'm sure there are, but find landowners and getting permission is the hardest part. You all know of anyone wanting some hogs shot at let me know. My buddy had that for us, so off to Ardmore is was.........very pretty country down there and the hogs were on the acorns heavy. A lot more water down there than I thought, definitely on my list of area's I'd like to move too.

Ended up shooting 2, one was a 200# boar with nice cutters.
