Looks like it should work and it is working thus far. Todd kept 2 males and they are both very interested and one of them will tree on a shot out dead coon. The other one will run a track on anything he runs across. My female treed very lightly on a dead coon hung up in a tree. Another buddy has a female that will run tracks all night long on rabbits mostly right now. Yet another buddy has a male that will go nuts over a cage coon.

Just wanted to update you on their progress. Sallys a COONDOG and her momma was a coondog who only lacked one win to be GRNITECH. She fell out of a tree and shattered one of her hind legs and wasn't campaigned anymore. Everyone knows the rest of the dogs in the ped and what they each did for the breed. Lots of good blood.

Bret

BRET JUST THE MALE HAS TO BE PERF.,LIKE DON SAID THE LITTER HAS TO BE PERF. AND THEN EACH PUP THAT YOU WANT PERMENANT PERFORMANCED,GLAD TO HEAR ALL OF THE PUPS ARE STARTING EARLY,THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN GETTING OUT OF RUSTY EARLY STARTERS AND WHOLE LITTERS MAKING COONDOGS.I THINK YOU WILL HAVE SOME STAND OUTS IN THIS LITTER BUT I THINK THE WHOLE LITTER WILL MAKE COONDOGS.

EVERY FEMALE THAT HAS BEEN BRED TO RUSTY HAS PRODUCED EARLY STARTERS THAT MAKE COONDOGS.

RON THAT IS THE FIRST COON THAT PUP HAS SEEN,I KNEW HE WOULD TREE ON A HIDE,BUT I HAD NOT SHOWED HIM A LIVE COON,BUT ALL THE PUPS I HAVE SEEN OUT OF RUSTY HAVE BEEN NATURAL TO WANT TO FIGHT A COON AND TREE AT A YOUNG AGE,THEM BLUE DOG MEN KEEP WATCHING THAT RED PUP,THEY WILL BE WANTING ONE BEFORE LONG.

UPDATE

Monday -Night. Daniel took his old blue female out, & thought he would take the Rusty pup for his first time out at Nt. cut them on a cut bean field, old dog took off & the pup also. pup opened, fast chop track old female said nothing Dan said he ran it like he was looking at it, was very fast running track opening a lot, he knew the pup must have hit a deer track, knew where it would come threw & after 15 min. sure enough deer then dog he grabed him put him in the dog box / he will be corected on that, Dans Dad & I say he
he knowes how to run a track & not quit witch is a good sign. by the looks of things, he can smoke a track & wide open chop,

RON SOUNDS LIKE THE PUP IS WELL ON HIS WAY TO MAKING A COONDOG,I ALWAYS LIKE TO SEE A 6 MONTH OLD PUP SMOKE A DEER AND NOT WANT TO QUIT IT,FEW MORE COON DOWN ON HIM AND I THINK HE WILL BE READY TO LEAVE OLD WHITETAIL ALONE.
