Hunt
Hey Chad, glad to hear you could make it out and that Ruby did her job as good as she could. Dave might try it tonight but the snow is deep and crusted so it will be tough going if he does. I was cutting wood today and it's tough getting around.
Before I went to the woods, I rounded up the coon and did a little pup training. The coon almost got the best of me again but I prevailed this time. I had him by a hind leg with my coon catcher and he was hanging on for all he was worth and I was pulling for all I was worth...not a good combination...he let go and ended up wrapped around my arm with a mouth full of my hand...luckily, I had leather gloves on and I was able to squiggly my finger out and just let him have the glove. I figured I was holding my own so I stuffed him in the cage and he let go so all is well. What a ruckus...This coon is about 30 pounds and meaner than a snake but I wasn't about to let him go and watch him head for the woods like the last one I tried to round up out of the cage.
Anyway...I was able to show the pups the coon and liked what I saw. Show Time is out of Yank and Angel, Stretch is out of Yank and Val and Locket is out of Rabble and Pigeon.
These first 3 pictures are of Show Time Coon Stopper...soon to go to Woofter down in Ohio. He's just 8 months old but he's got the goods...big time. Loud mouth, good color and pretty good overall conformation. He's going to be a good one if I guess right...
Last but not least, a couple of short clips. They were really wound up after I took these clips but I didn't have another disk so this will have to do.
I really like these young dogs and see good things for them in the future. Locket is a darker colored female with a green collar. I call the lighter colored male Stretch...because I haven't figured out a name yet...and I had to call him something. Show Time is pretty tall and dark with the red collar, has a houndy mouth and is loud. Stretch has a real coarse, squall type mouth and is loud. It won't take Show Time long to get gone in the woods and I'd about bet he'll track and tree the first time out...we'll see...eh?

Unrealistic expectations are a roadblock to success, judge your dogs by what they are ready to give not by what you wish they'd do.
