Busting To Tell

Hi Tom,
I know you are busting to tell about the shooting. Topdog didn't tell about the second coon Cherry treed a half mile from the truck and I called him just before I got to the tree and she was laying on it after a long track. Well I hung up from Tom and found the coon and then had a brain storm to call him back and let him listen to the fight. I shot holding the phone to my ear and the light in the same hand. The coon was in a big oak out in the open and I hit it and it fell down in a fork were I could only see it's ears and a little head. I missed it the next shot and Tom was laughing then and wanting to send shells air Express and I missed again and he wanted to know if I was trying to see if I could bank shoot it off another tree. Cherry was treed on a steep bank so I couldn't go to the other side of the tree to shoot. Foundly I threw the phone down and shot some more and I think the coon fell out from the first shot. I don't think I ever hit it again. I picked up the phone and Tom was laughing louder than Cherry had been treeing. I had a great hunt and it sure was fun. When I got home I opened me a can of corn beef and maked me a big corn beef sandwich with a big glass of milk and then gave the other half to Sweet Cherry. I love corn beef and everyone I know hates it. Now the cat's out of the bag I feel better. LOL! I bet both will happen on Cherry. Proably in this order Yank and then S.-T. Cherry did real good the last three nights. Treed two each night and gave her one each night. Dave *** Raven I know what you are up again now and I feel for you. LOL!

Cherry

I couldn't help myself Dave...hearing those shots and the grumbling in the background reminded me so much of Dave (Raven) that it about knocked me out of my chair. I'll have to say though that Cherry sounded GOOD...she was laying on it just like this picture shows she does

It was good stuff start to finish and with both phone calls. I could picture it plain as day from your play-by-play to the sound of Cherry getting bit on the nose on that last coon...what a deal!

Hmmmmm...the Raven school of shooting...I want the contract on supplying ammo to that group

We'll look forward to extending the blood with this kind of quality young dogs...that's what it's all about.

Raven's School of Shooting

The list keeps on growing each day. We might as well add Pastor Mike and Aaron Wade to the list.

A couple of years ago Pastor Mike and I had a couple of coon treed and I started blazin' away with the pistol. After a quite of few shots Mike wanted to try and had the same outcome as me. After about 15 shots he finally came out. Tom was just giggling at the edge of the woods asking if we needed reenforcements.

Aaron and I had a 33+ pounder treed this year. He had an open sighted pistol and started poppin' at him. I was at the bottom of the hill with a club in my hand ready for him to come out hopefully dead. Was i wrong! He came flying over my head like Superman and took off running. The dogs finally got him cornered under a brush pile and finished him off.

Really????

I don't remember that at all Raven........surely I couldn't miss like that. I think I'll have to bring my own gun this year......I think Topdog messes with the sights ........besides.....I never get to shoot....I'm always doing the filming Either way......I want to take my final exam again.

Proud

I guess I am just proud to have a nice dog that trees coon so I can shoot at them. Didn't go last night it rained heavy all day and into the night here. Was kinda like spring. Was a lot of lightning and thunder or was I dreaming of blazing away at that coon. Have a great Day. Dave

Pastor Mike

Yeah, I would want to delete that from my memory too. It was 2-3 years ago and Buck stayed back in Virginia. We let the dogs go behind my cabin and they treed 2 coon back in the valley. (Can't rememer which dogs) Tom told us to go on and get the dogs and he would follow behind us. Does this help your memory or are you still in full denial? You might need some couseling, I know who you could talk to!! LOL

I remember the hunt.....I just don't remember shooting...lol.......I remember the two coons and them rolling out and tom laughing down the hill........I remember all that shooten' you did......I don't think I shot though........

I think the dogs were Rabble, sally and spook......spook got stuck on the fence on the other ridge I think. we crossed the fence over from the truck and walked up the fenceline in the corn and then crossed back over and up the ridge to the that oak that was leaning over the ridge and we could only see the coons from the bottom side and could only see their rear ends......plus you hit the wrong coon to start out with and hit the other one so you had to go ahead and get the other one out too.....they were pretty good sized coon, then we had to call spook in to us from across the way but he eventually came on back in............but my memory is pretty cloudy at this point....

Did I make the honor roll???

I think the missing has to do with Topdog because I shot three deer with a crossbow this year and never missed and I couldn't hit that coon looking right at me after he got on line. LOL! Dave

I can't wait to see that video. I hope there are some teachable moments during the clip so my students can learn what not to do while shooting at a masked bandit. LOL

Well here is the proof. The preacher can shoot. We brought a big bad one tonight.

Here is also a picture of Haze, Spook, Frog and Zoe with a big coon (for us) in the creek. It gave them all they wanted and then some.

picture

That picture looks staged to me! Someone needs to tell P.Mike that he is suppose to close his left eye when he is shooting with a scope! It might help him shoot better!

Proves Nothing

He could have shot 0 times and is just holding the gun or 25 times who knows. Only Pastor Mike knows. With out Top there it don't count anyway. Have a great day. Winter came back to Ohio last night. The schools are all closed today. By the way Pastor it looks like you got a good shot on the coon he has done whipped 4 big red dogs. Shouldn't have showed the picture. I believe by the looks of things he jumped. LOL! Also you can see his light is shinning on his thumb so there is no way he could see the coon. I believe he is just posing for a picture. Dave

Douke Kennel Name

Hi Tom,
Worked Douke last night and she looked good. Pictures will follow.
Her new name will be: PR' T-TOP RED-N-HOT DAISY DUKE. I want to thank Chuck Walsh ( Canada ) again for giving me the chance to own Douke. That's what Chuck called her and that will be her Kennel name. Dave

Staged???

Of course it was staged.............there was only two of us......Jason took the picture first, then came over and held the light for me........hit that coon every shot......walked him down to ten feet and then took a long stick and poked him out into the creek.

You guys are silly........maybe you should work for CSI

Holy Cow!!!
Staged, not real, hammer not cocked, light shinning on the thumb. The next thing you know Lambert will be on here with his evaluation of the situation.

The truth. Two seasoned dogs, two younguns, younguns got fired up because the ol boy walked down, yes a long stick did poke him out, down here in the south we don't have to shootem out dead, yes there were guite a few shots fired.

Wow, I feel better now that all that is off my chest. Maybe you should try it Mike.
