Ladies and Gentlemen, the newest addition to the Barber Family! Gunner Nathaniel Barber!
Sure, Gunner and Barber makes sense but why Nathaniel? Well, let me explain.
Elijah, my 9 yr old, has been praying for a Redbone about a year and a half. Me and Les have been unsuccessful in finding a redbone at a reasonable price. We gave up and Les told Elijah to pray. Elijah not only prayed, He went as far as buying a leash, collar, and naming the dog he was praying for. He talked about this for a long time and waited patiently. Last week we sang for the homecoming at Blue Creek BC with Preacher Ken Shew. During break, Preacher Shew came up to Elijah, shook his hand, and said " boy, have you ever been coon hunting?". Elijah advised that he had not but he wanted to. What happened next put Elijah on cloud 9 and caused excitement in the hearts of mom and dad.The preacher advised Elijah that he raised redbone and he had a puppy Elijah might want. Elijah looked at me and said, "Dad! He's got redbones!" After church, preacher Shew met with Elijah. He talked and discussed the possibility of Elijah owning the redbone. In short, Preacher Shew gave Elijah the redbone pup! 🙌 So, why the name Nathaniel?? Well, the Hebrew meaning of Nathaniel is "gift of God; God has given". Now you see why the name fits! Bro. Kenny Shue had no idea that the little red headed boy he was making small talk with had been prayerfully waiting. This was the first time we, and preacher, had ever met. It's awesome how the Lord works and I am thankful for how He used Preacher Shew to answer my boys prayer. The Lord not only cares for the needs of His children but He cares for our wants too. He also uses His people to be a blessing to others. Gunner is doing good and Elijah can't keep him off the coon skin drag!

Ken i would be glad to hunt any of your dogs. Let me know when to get the dog or dogs and we will work it out. Not going to be able to make it to redbone days. Everything is going good here. How is your family doing? When i had that triple bypass and the 2 stints done i slowed down quite a bit but feeling really good now so im ready to get back to hunting. Do you have any young dogs off grizzly that i might be able to get from you. Let me know?

Yes I will give u a call when I can; my dad is very sick in the hospital.
I think Southern Redbone days is February 15 and 16th.
