I am looking forward in you seeing Roofus in action... What part of NC are you from ? I hope to be able come down sometime after Thanksgiving... I would like to plan a trip acording to the moon phase I will try to plan it and give you a possible date soon... Keep in touch... I am hoping we will slow down in December... I live in the Northwest corner of the state!! I can stand in NC, VA,TN, at the same time!!!!!! Im always anxious to see a good dawg in the woods!!! Lord knows mine are just dawgs to say the least!! lol

I called the guy that I thought may have a pup but all I got was a voice mail I left a message for him to call me back that was yesterday I haven't heard anything back... I tried calling you back but went to your mail box that hasn't been set up yet... I am on vacation starting tonight thru til' monday a week deer hunting @ camp I will not have much phone service... IF ANYONE WANTS TO CONTACT ME PLEASE LEAVE ME A MESSAGE and I will return your calls ASAP!!! Or contact me here we do have internet but no phone service here @ camp... We have to drive out 6 miles to get phone service... Thanks to all and if something happens Happy Thanksgiving to all... JR

P.S. I am planning on going back home Saturday night a week... To make a trip to N.C. on Sunday to pick up a female pup out of Nebraska...

I received your message today But I forgot to call you back I had full intentions of doing so on my way back to camp but I totally forgot... I am planning on going back home on Saturday night I will try to bring her with me as I come. However I will be going to NC very early on Sunday morning to pick up my pup from Nebraska... Dave, I haven't been hunting I have only been one time since kill season opened and that was opening night.... Work has been keeping me busy... Now I am Buck hunting... I am hoping to take Roofus to NC to pleasure hunt with a guy down there that is interested in breeding to him. It usually starts to slow down at work after Thanksgiving so maybe I will get to go some then.. Blu is growing like a weed he is developing into a nice looking hound I believe he is going to a big hound... I got a call the other day from a guy in NC wanting to know where in Wisconsin your friend lives that you had posted bear hunting pictures of.. JR

Stay away from Internet tablets. I retuned mine. I now.have a similar systen to what I have always had. I hope to post videos soon, I have some new ones including The New Boss, Roofus' half brother.

Thanks Dave for the heads up... Looking forward to seeing the New Boss in action...

Well Buck season is off to a bad start Monday we got rained out left the woods early afternoon. Yesterday we never went 90% chance of heavy rain stayed at camp... This morning started with heavy rain high wind and changed over to snow above 3000' which we are higher than that... We froze out and came in. So I took the long way back to camp. I took a picture on top of Black Mountain @ 4545' notice the passenger side of my truck... I did manage to kill my buck (button) before making it back to camp... Yes you guess it with my truck look at the next picture made sick... That made three deer that I have hit since last Saturday. I hit one with her Rav4 and busted the front bumper cover. I hit a doe going hunting with my truck Monday morning but the brush guard saved it then... Not so lucky this time... I know bullets are cheaper But nothing for them to eat in the woods so they are in the roads.. I have plenty of meat though... I also posted a couple of bear pictures... Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving to all... JR

We made it back home with no BUCK to bragg about... If nothing happens We will be in Hudson, NC @ 9am Sunday morning picking up our new pup... Wish us a safe trip its nearly a four hour drive but thats better then a 20 hour drive to Nebraska.. I have a few men to thank for all this fitting into place and I will do that once I return home with our new pup... Thanks to all...

P.S. I will be mailing out Roofus' 2012 Perfomace fee this week... I am so ready to get these hounds in the woods... JR

We had a safe trip there and back although I was 3 mins late... This ol' fat guy had to stop for breakfast we were 28 mins ahead of schedule until I stopped at the Golden Corral... Lol... Job well done and a tough one at that... The third guy is Mr. Billy Wilkes of Alabama for setting up the return of her to NC.. With out his efforts I am not sure I would have been able to get her here... And last but not least the man that made it worth my while Mr. Clyde Miller of NC he brought her back to his kennel for me all the way from Nebraska... ANd he patiently waiting on me for a week while I was Deer Hunting... All four of these guys are true houndsmen and have earned my respect for life... I can't say Thank You enough... And I would also like to thank the very lovely lady Penny that made the trip with me... I love you Honey... THANKS!!! JR

P.S. Clyde Miller has some nice pups forsale I think he told me he had 3 left they are Alsome breed. Here is his # if anyone is interested give Clyde a call @ 828-781-4680

If you folks want to see and hear a half brother to Roofus, check out the Jack dog on the Rocky Run Bad News Bo thread. Jack is a Nite Champion.

Junior, I am trying to get some video of the female littermate to Bawlie and Chopper. The guy wants the same kind of money you paid for Roofus for her. He is hunting her by herself and catching 2 or 3 coons a night. I hear she is a very stylish tree dog that stays. I will get her when she starts hunting as deep as Roofus hunts. LOL. The guy is 75+ years old.
