If you mean Catahoula type cow dogs, you're probably on point. We use em down south for hogs and they are tough, tough, tough... however, I couldn't live with the personality on em. The ones I've seen are pretty "cold" to humans.

Yes the ones I have seen work all have some Catahoula in them.. Actually the guys that I have hunted with just use Catahoula crossed with a bit of McNaab, Border Collie and a shot of heeler..Mostly half Catahould and then the rest of it mixed it.. Normally they dont' have any hounds and a few of them have a shot of pit in them.. They are some pig catching SOB's.

Most people are not familiar with real pit bulls like I think Just starting has. He is right about their speed and endurance they will out do just about any dog. Also those kind of pits have no back up or baying in them. If they get to the bear and are able to get their mouth on it I think it will be the pits last time doing anything.

I assure you that I am..... most do have great speed and good endurance. Compared to a great bear dog in great shape..... they have nothing. I will give you that if a pit tried to "catch" a bear on the ear they would be torn to ribbons. If you think you need more dogs or more grit in your dogs to catch bears you are mistaken.... you just need different dogs. Take care.

Rock Creek and I think the same,if you need more grit your hunting the wrong line of dogs.I get that alot hunting all walkers."ya gotta have them plotts for the grit." BS I started with all plotts and now I hunt all walkers. It's all about the bloodlines.PITS ARE CATCH DOGS.If ya enjoy vet bills or burying dogs get a whole pack of them and have yourself a ball.

No, I am not out of my mind, but I do question some of the numbers you just posted.

Your dogs will not run neck and neck with any hound because there aren't any hounds fast enough to keep up with your pits.

Could you please post a picture of some of your dogs and game?

Kyle

Sure will how do i post a pick

Most are not Mr Vance M. all points you just made are very true it most likely will be the last thing the pit dose but boy would he do it ...I must also say that if i had to trust my life to only ONE dog to save it to stop or slow down the something so i could get away of to my gun, ect It would be only the" American (PIT) Bull Terrier"
The same dog's that founded the UKC like old figthing petter and many more ...any how and someone in another post said something about a pit being cold to a human i promess you sir the game breed APBT are friendly , loveing, and loyal to humands
and love nothing better then the touch ,voice or just the sight of there human to send them into a frenzey of playfullness

Is that why more and more towns and cities are making them illegal to own? Or why most insurance companies wont offer you a home owner's policy if you have a pitbull at your house?

Pitbulls are not hunting dogs...they were stock dogs, and then fighters. They have no tree mindness, they have no strike ability. They have prey drive on very short site chases only. They have no stamina and do not posses the build to be a runner. You simply will never catch a bear, or bay one up with a pack of all pitbulls. Few bear chases are site chases from start to finish. If those pits are great, lets see a few photos of them at work...baying and treeing bears.

Why don't you take this BS somewhere else.... like pitdogcity.... you probably never even heard of that site... but you come on here and act like a know it all...... Seriously, it's getting old. You asked for opinions and you got some...... so stop trying to convert us. I got out of bulldogs because prison didn't sound like much fun.

Tell you what ... go find a bear and post some pics.....?

I'm still waiting here for pictures of those pitbulls working over a bear. Will you be able to make time tonight to go through your vast collection of hunting photos and show us all how great those pitbulls of yours are? I for one cant wait to see it.

I found a site about hog hunting in Australia...seems like whenever they're forced to use a pitbull in their pack, they just keep it to breed to. They cross it with something that has more brains, nose, courage, and endurance. I wonder why that is huh? Thos crazy Aussies are always getting it wrong I guess.
