Why you can't use dogs in MN on bear--

there has always been a Law on the books here that you can not use dogs to help in the taking of big game. I think it was in the early 70's they listed bear as Big Game. At the time they did it, no one was thinking of the "Big Game" law until it was to late.

Bobcat--

is fine.

Well as far as getting it back?? That's a good question. There was a club that tried pretty hard at one time, but now it's a "buddy" club that only cares about having 20 some dogs chase coyotes in a pen.

There is a MN Bear Hunters Club that is working with the clubs from other States that could have picked the ball up and be running with it.

Last I heard the DNR was not against changing the law back.

Boy, that's a loaded ?---

I myself don't think it will happen where the public will be able to buy a tag to harvest one. But I can see the State having a few hunters that they would let harvest trouble wolves.

This State, like so many others, have to many law makers that have grown up in the "City" where they think their food comes from a store and not a farm. Where they don't know that you have to control wildlife or they will suffer. And that not all guns are in the hands of bad people, but most are in the hands of good law fearing people.

I don't live where wolves roam, but I wonder if any have ended up gone already because of being trouble? I have heard about what some call the 3 S's. Shoot-Shovel-Shut up.

I have a good friend that works for the Federal government, and his findings are that we have way more in MN that what the DNR saids.
