There is a book about 15 years old named CATAHOOTCHIE sp? about the community by that name that was taken over and everybody run out of when the Great Smokey Park took it. It was written by a woman that lives in Maggie Valley. She has many tales of black panthers and bears in it. Heck they even got Elk turned loose in it now.
